RECENT ARCHAEOLOGY
Having had to take a break from my studio in the summer of 2018, working at home, I decided to make one small ink drawing a day.The images grew almost by themselves allowing ideas to emerge that I had not necessarily expected.
The simple marks , shapes , and small plant drawings , ( some taken from medieval herbals, others from C18 botanical books) combined with electrical wiring, pose questions about the connections we now have with nature.
We have always assumed dominion over the world ,expecting plants and animals to be under our control; we do not seem to recognise how much we rely on them.
Some of these drawings suggest an almost intimate and dependant relationship between ourselves and technology often needed in order to have the space to heal.
